Our purpose is to reach San Diego's children for Jesus and to partner with parents; helping guide them on a lifetime spiritual journey.
Our vision is to grow children in the way Jesus grew:
- Mentally - Wisdom
- Physically - Stature
- Socially/Emotionally - In favor with man
- Spiritually - In favor with God
Check In & Out
Check in begins 20 minutes prior to each service time. At check in your child/children will receive an alpha-numeric number on their nametag. You will also receive a parent ticket with the same alpha-numeric number and it must be turned in when you pick up your child/children. If you misplace your number, you with not be able to pick up your child until a staff member checks your identity. If for any reason during the service your child needs your assistance, their number and first name will be displayed on the digital monitors in the sanctuary.
Early Check Out
We understand that there will be times when you may need to pick up your child/children early from the service. For the safety of the children we would like to ask that you would wait until the end of the service, except in an emergency situation. If you have an emergent situation, please speak to one of the Security Team Members to assist you to your child/children's class.
Security
We want you to feel confident that your child/children are in a secure, safe environment while you are in service. We are committed to ensuring that every staff member and volunteering completes an interview process and a background check before being placed in a room with your child. Our staff and volunteers also adhere to a no child left alone with one worker policy. We ensure that there are always two workers in a room with children.
Family Options
Soothing Room - Located off the sanctuary exits to the lobby.
Nursing Mothers Room - Located off the sanctuary exits to the lobby.
Classroom Parent Visitors - Parents are welcome to experience Children's Ministry with their child. Please check in with the Lead Teacher in the classroom.
Preschool - Birth to 5 years
Our Preschool Staff is excited to help lay a strong foundation in the life of each child, with the hope that when older, each child will accept Christ as their personal Savior. In the preschool we teach key Bible truths through repetition and creativity. Knowing that preschoolers are searching for understanding and predictability, we teach kids the same basic heart truths over and over again until they fully understand them:
God created me.
God loves me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
We look forward to this incredible journey with your child and partnering with you to save, equip and send out young soul winners for Jesus Christ.
Well Child Policy
In order to provide a safe, healthy environment for all children; any child who shows any signs of illness, such as a runny nose, persistent cough, fever, etc., we will ask that you keep your child with you during the service and utilize one of the family options. A detailed Well Child Policy is available at the Front Registration Center.
Promotion
Children in our Infant through Toddler classes are promoted throughout the year based on their age and motor skills development.
Children ages two, three and four are promoted once a year in the fall. In order for children to be promoted to the next age group, they must be the age of the group by September 1st.
We promote children to kindergarten with the same requirement date as the school system. Each child in our kindergarten program must have reached age 5 by September 1st.
Elementary Program
Our Elementary Staff is excited to continue to lay a strong foundation in the life of each child, with the hope that when older, each child will accept Christ as their personal Savior. Our department helps children master Biblical truths by teaching virtues through life applications.
Large Groups: In the large group environment your child will be fully engaged as Bible stories come to life before their eyes. Gifted teachers will use costumes, props, drama, songs and games to teach children to learn about God and communicate Biblical truths. Children will also get to sing as loud as they want and tell God that they love him during worship.
Small Groups: In the small groups your child will be challenged to use the truth of God's word to make the right choices and live each day for God. Your child will build lasting relationships as they connect with the same small group leader each week. Every small group leader is passionate about sharing God's love and giving each child the opportunity to learn how to live for God at home, at school and in their community.
Transition Time: For your child's safety we will be closing the hallways between your child's large and small group environments. We will reopen the doors once all the children have been safely moved.
