About Us

This ministry exists to build up foster youth who are often going through life lost, alone and without hope. There are more than 7,000 children living in foster care in San Diego County. These children have been removed from their homes, neighborhoods, communities and lost all that is familiar to them. Many of them try to fill the loneliness and emptiness with destructive behavior like drugs, sex, or fighting.

At 18 they often end up on the streets with no place to go and no one to turn to for help.

A mentor is the one person who can be consistent in the life of a foster child. When a child moves to a new foster home, the mentor is there. When they move to another group home, the mentor is there. Even if they get into trouble, the mentor is there.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
  (Deuteronomy 31:8)

A mentor shows these lost young ones about God's staying power.

As a member of the Rock Church we hope that you have a desire to use the gifts that God has given you to influence and transform these children who often feel hopeless into a child who sees a positive vision for his/her future.
