2007 Marriage Retreat Testimonials

We had an amazing turn-out this year at the Marriage Retreat! Over 250 couples joined Pastor Miles & speaker Dr. John Trent at the La Quinta Resort & Club the weekend of June 22-24. Many couples were significantly impacted & blessed; here are what some people had to say about what they learned at the retreat and how it impacted them: 

God made us different so that we can compliment each other. We can keep our love alive by making small changes.

Deal with issues when they are small so they don't become bigger problems down the road.

Although we have such variences in personalitly, the key is recognizing such traits in one another and appreciating how we can support one another to receive the ultimate connection of love, loyalty and friendship. Putting more faith in the Lord's guidance will also help us both to keep faithin God's plan to keep our love alive.

Now we can recognize our strengths and weaknesses and hopefully communicate more effectively.

By honoring God I am a better person to my wife, family and others.

I know now how my husband feels when I ask him to do a particular thing - working together as a team will accomplish what I see as a small task, but is huge to him - so we will work on it together.

Keeping in mind how my husband compliments me and adds to me will make a huge difference in the future!

We really enjoyed it! It took us 29 years of marriage to attend a retreat and we highly recommend it!

This is our second year here together. The interaction with my wife has helped our marriage to grow beyond belief!

This was the first time we've been away without the kids in 3 years. You don't realize how caught up you get in your daily routine when you're in it. Just the time to step away from everything gives great perspectives on life and the way your marriage tends to get  put on the side burner. It was so nice to put it first for a while and I hope we can keep it up when we get home!
