• Looking for a way to show your appreciation for the enormous commitment made by each member of active duty military? 
• Want to help us welcome home troops as they come home from warzones? 
• Want to lend a hand in encouraging those who have recently committed to serving our country?

CWEST is open to all civilians and military alike!

 CWEST is a group of volunteers dedicated to expressing our appreciation for active duty military men & women through activities at the Neil Ash USO located in Terminal 2 at the San Diego Airport (Lindbergh Field).  Whether you are available regularly, on various occasions or on a “spur of the moment” basis, we need volunteers for the following opportunities:

• Second  TUESDAY of the month, 9am to Noon at the Neil Ash Airport USO, San Diego Airport:

Encourage, Support and Thank recent Boot Camp graduates as they travel through our airport and head for Camp Pendleton for additional training as the develop their military careers. We are looking for volunteers who can be at the airport regularly on the first Tuesday of the month from 9am-Noon, for one to three hour shifts as you are available.   We also welcome those who can occasionally help out on Tuesdays!  If this sounds like a fun and rewarding way to interact with 200-500 Marines each week, we’d love to have you join us!

• ON-CALL, TYPICALLY WITH VERY SHORT-NOTICE, Neil Ash Airport USO, San Diego Airport:

Join us as we learn of active duty military personnel returning home to San Diego from a warzone.  This is an excellent opportunity to welcome home and thank these brave men and women for their service to our country and thank their families for their personal sacrifices as well.  We’re looking for volunteers on a very short-notice basis.  Volunteering included making phone calls to alert our volunteer base of the event and being at the airport to really give our troops a “SUPER” heroes welcome home and acknowledge their dedication to duty.  This is an excellent FAMILY volunteering activity for all ages!

• VARIOUS USO CALLS FOR SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:

When the USO has a need for support, we need volunteers for various shifts of prayer, donations of homemade food or food prep, meet & greets, etc.  This is a great opportunity to serve &/or bring a friend along with you to serve on the occasional, “as-needed” basis.
