It is absolutely wonderful to meet you! Since your here, relax, have a seat and lets get to know each other!
I am assuming your here because:
- * You are ready to 'do something'?
- * You want to grow in your Christian walk and are looking for purpose and meaning in life?
- * Looking for a place to fit in and belong while making a difference in: The world, Africa, San diego, a child's life, our environment, your life, your church and your community?
- * (OR) You may have seen us all in our freakishly obnoxious ORANGE COVERALLS and were wondering what all the hub bub is about and where you can get yourself a pair!!! That's ok too!
Well, you are in the RIGHT SPOT! You may be thinking... I want in on this! Where do I start, when do I start and what do I do? First step is to figure out where you fit.
*** Our ministry has 3 basic divisions. ***
1. Dumpster Divers errr... I mean Tactical team<---- (OH, SIGN ME UP FOR THAT!)
- Our Tactical team receives, sorts and process recyclable beverage containers made from plastic, aluminum, and glass brought in by the Rock Church members from their individual communities. This is the down and dirty side of our ministry that requires the majority of our volunteers. They will be out every Sunday, every service. Depending on the amount of materials we are receiving on a weekly basis will depend on how many volunteers are required. We need parking lot attendants for collecting materials from members at their cars, shaker sign holders to help gain attention and direct people in the right area, and material sorters to go through all the recyclables we receive. (More information as we get this ministry off the ground April 20th, 2008)
2. Child Advocates/prayer - (The softer, cleaner side)
- This division takes care of our sponsored children. They receive the children's information, read through their personal stories and assign prayer partners to each child that will pray for their general and specific needs and welfare. They will correspond with each child through monthly letters. Our child advocates will keep the ministry informed of any emergent or special needs of our children so that we can do our best to provide help where it is needed.
3. Administrative - (Virtual Dumpster Divers! Almost like the real thing - except... not)
- The administrative side of this ministry will be dealing with the record keeping, accounting, budgeting, recycle program planning, advertising, promotions, information, event planning, volunteer communications and updates, member communications and updates, website development and upkeep, ordering materials and equipment management etc.
*** We encouraged you to participate in as many "divisions" as you want! ***
